Another Way To See It

June is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month

Randy Poindexter & Kim Moran Season 3 Episode 45

On this episode of The Another Way To See It podcast, we talk about Men’s mental health. June is Men’s Mental Health awareness month in the US, and the statistics are alarming. Over 6 million men experience depression each year. Males account for 10% of patients with anorexia and 35% of patients with binge eating disorders. 19.1 million Americans experience anxiety disorder and 3,020,000 men have a panic disorder, agoraphobia, or any other phobia. Male suicide has been on the rise since 2000 and is the 7th leading cause of death for men in the US. We can only heal as a collective if everyone begins to heal. At Another Way To See It, we believe that you are not broken or defective; but a human living in systems that aren't conducive to thriving. Competition, pressure to achieve, financial and relational stress, bypassing, and the lack of community all paly roles in the quality of your mental well-being. One of our favorite quotes is: “It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”- J. Krishnamurti . We hope you get something of value from this episode; but most importantly we hope that you realize that – YOU ARE NOT ALONE, AND THERE IS HELP AVAILABLE.
