Another Way To See It

The Impact of Your Self Loathing

Season 4 Episode 40

Send us a text

On this episode of the Another Way To See It podcast, we talk about the ways we notice a sense of self-loathing/hatred impacting our relationship with others, ourselves, and the current political landscape. We have a tendency to blame ourselves for the ways we are “unworthy”, hiding parts of ourselves to fit in, find safety, or align with power. Often the cruelty that we see at play in the world conceals a deep sense of self-loathing on the part of leaders across all sectors. The antidote isn’t love and light, it’s a clear view of the systems at play, radical accountability, and self-acceptance- not in the sense of “that’s just the way I am”; but in actually acknowledging that often we’re doing the best that we can with the tools in our toolbox, and that others are doing the same, putting ourselves in other’s shoes, and simply trying to be a good human.
